Have fun learning to sing your favourite pop songs

The Greatest Hits Choir enables you to learn to sing your favourite pop songs with other local amateur singers. You will learn to sing along to backing tracks of your favourite pop songs. You can sing solo, backing vocals or just the doh-wah-diddy-diddies; whatever takes your fancy.

The choir is led by Carol Canning    , former musical director with the Swingle Singers, who now teaches both local amateur singers and international superstars, and has even taught Freda from ABBA.

Carol has always had a passion for jazz. A highlight was a week’s residency at Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club and singing in a televised performance from St Paul’s Cathedral of one of Duke Ellington’s Sacred Concerts narrated by Douglas Fairbanks Jnr with Tony Bennett and Rod Steiger. She also does session work and is on soundtracks for the latest Star Wars Movie and Lord of the Rings. Carol recently took part in a performance of Paul McCartney's Ece Cor Meum, at the Albert Hall. She also sang on many occasions for BBC Radio 2 Friday Night is Music Night including a series of musicals – Jesus Christ Super Star, My Fair Lady, Guys and Dolls to name a few. Carol has sung backing on albums by Paul Weller and Bjork as well as various TV appearances with Swingle Singers including Parkinson (Australia), The Des O’Connor Show and Pebble Mill. Carol still enjoys close harmony singing.
